The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a copyright law enforced in the US as well as in other countries members of the World International Property Organization (WIPO). DMCA takedown procedure is a challenging task for any ISP, so it’s often exploited to shut down legitimate sites; such circumstances create a great demand on DMCA-ignored hosting providers. Such hosting companies theoretically ignore DMCA notices it receives from copyright holders.
